Strategy, Data, and Purpose

I am a strategic advisor who excels at diving into complex problems. My focus has been on understanding the mechanics of organizations, connecting raw data to executive strategy. My approach is a potent blend of deep data analysis, rigorous management consulting, and the advanced critical thinking developed through long-term academic research.

The Analytical Roots

My professional journey started right out of university with a focus on quantitative analysis. At Unibanco (2005–2007), I worked as a Process Analyst, learning how simple Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) measure and improve customer satisfaction in banking services.

I quickly cemented this data-driven focus at Nielsen Market Research (2007–2009). As a Market Research Analyst, I put my Statistics background to use, performing complex data mining and interpretation that supported major clients' pricing and promotion strategies, including Nestlé and Johnson & Johnson.

From there, I moved into hands-on project leadership at Compsis Automotive Technology (2009–2011). Serving as Project Manager and key account manager provided intense training in cross-functional communication—my job was to act as the liaison, ensuring multidisciplinary teams and the board of directors were always speaking the same language.

Corporate Scale

The consulting rigour truly began during my four years at Deloitte Consulting as a Strategy & Operations Manager. This was the ultimate training in structured thinking and high-stakes strategy. I executed over 20 commercial strategy projects for large corporate clients, building the actual operational infrastructure, including advanced profitability models and tiered pricing structures, that helped drive gross margin expansion. I also directed complex corporate transformations, such as leading a salesforce integration project after a merger by modelling optimized territories (in Excel 😳), effectively removing operational waste.

Academic Life

After my time at Deloitte, I intentionally stepped back from the pure corporate track for a period of focused intellectual development. I sought to develop the advanced critical frameworks that pure consulting, focused on immediate results, often cannot provide. This began with a Master of Arts in Theological Studies (2019) and led to my pursuit of a PhD in Theology at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam, where I reached the All But Dissertation (ABD) stage.

This intensive academic journey was the ultimate exercise in complex research and the translation of massive, abstract ideas into clear, usable frameworks. This intellectual discipline—the ability to find structure and meaning in vast amounts of information—is a unique skill I bring back to strategy today.

Mission-Driven Impact

I immediately applied this hybrid skillset to leadership roles within mission-driven organizations.

As the Program Manager at Regent College (2018–2022), I led the successful program redesign and managed the challenging transition from in-person to fully online delivery during the pandemic. Critically, my data analysis skills identified new markets in the U.S., revealing a potential 30% market expansion opportunity for one of our educational products, demonstrating how quantitative analysis can directly drive a mission-focused outcome. I also co-chaired the Strategic Direction Working Group for A Rocha International (2022–2023), successfully uniting 22 independent country teams to formulate the global organization's five-year strategic direction.

Current Practice

Today, through my consulting firm, Quilombo Management Consulting, my work focuses extensively on strategic organizational practices for leaders. I love using my data and strategy background to give diverse non-profits a clear, executable framework that ensures their purpose translates into sustainable results.

While providing these organizational frameworks, I observed a critical, underlying issue: sustainable strategy requires sustainable leadership. Most mission-driven leaders were depleted and lacked the capacity to execute. Facing that reality, I decided to integrate wellness coaching into my practice, completing a training program out of the Mayo Clinic. I have already seen the fruits of this blended approach in helping my clients achieve high-impact, mission-driven outcomes without sacrificing personal capacity.
