2007 Got a job in marketing research and moved to Jundiaí

2009 Moved back to my hometown for a job in tech and tried Jiu-Jitsu for the first time
2010 Found out I couldn't have kids and had the first surgery trying to solve it
2011 Got a job as a management consultant and moved to São Paulo
2012 Second surgery to have kids with no results
2015 Moved to Canada to pursue a master's in Theology
2018 Started working in academia
2019 Became a Permanent Resident of Canada

Quilombo

Pronunciation tip: say it like “Key-lawn-bow,” but speed it up and stress the middle: kee-LOM-boh.

I founded Quilombo as a management consulting business in 2023. Back then, that was the direction I thought things would take. As time went on, my interests continued to broaden, and I realized I needed a different kind of presence in the workplace. Something that would give me the freedom to keep exploring, while also providing people with access to the things I'm offering. This website is a translation of that into the online presence language.

The inspiration for the brand stems from my Brazilian heritage. Quilombos are historic traditional communities in Brazil where escaped enslaved people organized collectively in pursuit of freedom. Like these settlements, I believe in harnessing creativity and collective effort for communal success. I also believe it's crucial to discover spaces where individuals can live freely and as they see fit, so everything you see here will be infused with that spirit. The designer responsible for my visual identity is Daniela Améstegui.
